Do you like to watch live TV on your Smartphone? The Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G makes it possible. It costs $459 and it is an LTE-compatible phone on MetroPCS’s prepaid network. The Samsung Droid Charge is just like Lightray. It has similar internal specs with its older Verizon cousin.
Design
The Droid Charge has a more pointed base than Lightray. It has a 7-inch retractable TV antenna. The Lightray’s front face consists of a Super AMOLED display of 4.3-inch 800-by-400-pixel, front facing camera of 1.3-megapixel, and physical versions of the standard Android navigation buttons such as search, home, menu, back.
On the left spine of the Lightray you can find the Micro-USB charging port, the volume rocker and while the power button. Then the MicroHDMI slot on the right spine. On the back there is an 8-megapixel camera with an LED flash. A 1600mAh battery can see after removing the back cover. You can easily access the SIM and MicroSD card slots.
The most part of it made up of plastic. The phone is comfortable and fits easily in most pants pockets. The keypad is too spongy.
Performance and Specs
The 1GHz single-core processor and 1GB of RAM help to perform without any lag. To use the extra procession power the developers write more apps. The apps which can run on a single core phone will be limited. You have to keep it in your mind, if you think to keep the phone for two years or longer. Now we are approaching the multicore phones.
The Lightray runs games such as Temple Run and Angry Birds without much trouble. The phone will be hot while playing games for 10 minutes. That means the battery has dropped 10 percent. You need to keep the charger handy when you plan to run many apps on the Lightray. You should get almost 4 to 5 hours battery in a single charge. You can connect Lightray to MetroPCS’s LTE network, that lets to reach download speeds faster than 3G.
Camera
While taking photos in well-lit environments the 8-megapixel camera works best. For video calls the front-facing camera works well. It is not better to take a photo with front camera due to its poor quality. It is not a right phone to take pictures frequently.
